4 weeks old

This week Adam is 4 weeks old. Wow, time is passing by very quickly. My parents stopped by quickly on Saturday afternoon because my dad left for India late Saturday night. He needed to get his Adam fix before leaving. Aubrey and Nicole also came over on Saturday afternoon to babysit (ie let me take a nap and let Jeff study). Babysitting didn't exactly go as planned. A few minutes after I laid down for a nap, Adam was hungry again! On Sunday my mom came over and watched Adam while I put away all of my maternity clothes and changed my wardrobe from my winter to summer clothes. On Monday Liz flew in! Adam and I were very excited to get her at the airport! It was so nice for me to have company every day, it can be lonely when you are home alone with a little person. A lot of one sided conversations. Liz and I went for a walk every day and also went for small excursions, like the mall or another destination. Liz also did some cleaning and loved holding Adam and comforting him. It was sad to see her leave today. On Tuesday Aunt Judy and Grandma Joyce came down from NH and Hannah and Keira came over too. Adam and I had such a great week with visitors! Jeff has an exam tomorrow so my mom came over again today and held Adam and kept me company during Adam's usual evening fuss period. We loved having Oma over!

Other highlights this week include a 4 hour stretch of sleep on Tuesday night, woohoo! Adam went 4.5 hours between eating and we all slept 4 hours. It was delightful! Today I weighed Adam and he is 11 pounds, oh my gosh! He is turning into a chunky monkey!

At the last minute Jeff and I decided to join his parents down in Kiawah. Adam will have his first ride on an airplane this Saturday! Not only am I excited to go to Kiawah, but I'm even more excited to have three helpers caring for Adam. I see a lot of naps for me when we are in Kiawah!

On another note, Jeff seemed very sleep deprived one day. He said that Thursday (today) Adam would be one month old. I corrected Jeff and said that Adam will be 4 weeks old. Jeff seemed confused and said, well then when is he one month old? My reply was, when it is April 22. I think Jeff was just a wee bit tired!

Speaking of tired, I'm exhausted tonight. I hope this post is legible! I will post some photos from the week tomorrow, I'm too tired tonight.
